MOE in Colombia Seeks International Observers Abroad

GNDEM member La Misión de Observación Electoral (MOE) in Colombia has issued a call for international election observers ahead of legislative (March 11) and presidential (May 27 and June 17) elections. For Colombians, these elections are the first to take place in a post conflict context. New elected officials will have to face peace building challenges, strengthening of justice and development of new economic sectors.

MOE invites GNDEM members to observe the electoral process in the Colombian embassies or consulates of their respective country. MOE promotes electoral transparency and credibility, and, with the help of fellow GNDEM members, hopes to reinforce these values for polling stations abroad.

MOE will provide an online training workshop to international observers abroad. Following completion of the online training, MOE will submit the necessary accreditation forms to the National Electoral Council (CNE), and MOE will coordinate with observers on the delivery of virtual materials and guides necessary to fulfill their mandate as international observers abroad.

To apply, complete Appendix 1 located in the attachment below and available here, and send to The deadline to apply to be an international observer abroad is February 15, 2018.
